6th Grade End of Year Plans

 6th Grade

End of Year Plans

Hello Parents and Students,

We are certainly disappointed that we cannot have our normal in-person celebrations for our amazing sixth graders, but we are hoping to make the best of it with these upcoming celebrations.

Beginning May 11, Mrs. Taylor, Mrs. Rivera, Ms. Maw, and Mrs. Wellman will be delivering graduation caps and t-shirts to your homes. If you are home when a teacher delivers, please remember to practice social distancing, and as much as the teachers would love to hug the kids. They need to remember to keep their space and give a nice big air hug!

On May 21, Mrs. Taylor and Mrs. Rivera will be posting and hosting virtual field day activities for the kids to participate in, and on May 22, Mrs. Taylor and Mrs. Taylor will be posting and hosting virtual yearbook signings and class parties. Please be on the lookout for more information from the teachers.

Lastly, on May 28, we will be doing a drive-by graduation ceremony beginning at 5:30 p.m in our school parking lot. If you and your child would like to participate, please feel free to decorate your car, enter the parking lot by Little Davinci, and we will have an archway set up by our school to drive under. Mrs. Taylor, Mrs. Rivera and I will be there to announce your child and hand them their diploma as they drive under the archway.  We will also be putting signs up by the flagpole on Lincoln Ave. to recognize each individual graduating sixth grader!

During the morning of May 28, Mrs. Taylor and Mrs. Rivera will be working with you to set up a time to come drop off school laptops/materials and pick up any items left in the classroom. These items will be bagged and ready to grab. Again, during this time, it will be essential to continue to practice social distancing guidelines to ensure you, your child, and our staff’s safety. When it is your scheduled time to come to school to drop off of materials, please only bring yourself and your 6th-grade student. Please keep any other kids or adults in the car or at home.

Please remember that these plans are contingent upon the safety and health guidelines we are told to follow. Thanks for your continued dedication and time to your child’s distant learning. We look forward to celebrating with the kids!
